Mom STILL doesn’t get the point of Healthy Hair

This is just a RANT, I’m not looking for any “Help”

As some of you may know, my mom (and the rest of my Family) is all about Bone Straight hair & LONG hair. She doesn’t care if it’s damaged & dead from her flat ironing it everyday, as long as it’s “Perfectly Straight”. When I BC’d & she took me to a Hair Show in Atlanta for my birthday; that was when she started leaving me alone about my Natural hair and started talking to her friends (a lot of them are Natural) about Hair, styles, etc.

Now each time I’m laying around the house & not going anywhere, she complains about my hair saying I need to do it, it’s “messed up” etc. And I just leave the room bc she KNOWS I know how to do MY hair & it makes me wonder WHY is it SO important to her that everybody has to be Made Up 24/7 as if we’re ALL famous or something? Even Stars are seen in their Lazy Clothes or Down Time outfits etc. sometimes. She needs to get over her obsession w “Beauty”

BTW when I lay around the house my hair is still in it’s lil TWA, just not “Defined” & that’s why she goes crazy as if someone’s gonna come over & leave bc her daughters hair “isn’t done”. I S&M & that’s all I need if I’m not goinf anywhere, no need to WAIST my styler products JUST so she can be happy to look at my hair(smh).

So anyway, on the phone she’s been talking about how she needs to learn how to wrap her hair & doesn’t have time to flat iron her hair everyday anymore. And I’ve already sent her TONES of YouTube videos about how to do easy stuff w her hair & she wont watch them, she’s too lazy & just wants me to tell her about “Which products will make my hair Grow”. -___-“

That’s what I have to put up w & since I’m in Cosmetology school she wants me to start doing her hair for her everyday & taking care of it FOR HER. After school I am TIRED, have tones of Book Work & have to take care of my OWN hair. I wouldn’t MIND “Helping” her take care of her hair, but she wants me to do EVERYTHING for her!! Plus if she is just gonna keep Damaging it, there is NO POINT in letting all that Hard Work I’ll do go to Waist, sigh.

I’m hoping that she will learn SOON that she won’t ever have LONG hair if she keeps Damaging it & not taking Proper care of it. She ALWAYS was obsessed w my hair when I was relaxed & wanted to make MINE longer since she couldn’t make her’s longer & mine would of been BSL if I didn’t cut it each time it went past my shoulders. She didn’t like that at all, LOL. But I have a bad feeling she’s not gonna take my Advice until my TWA grows out(even though she knew it was long before).

Let’s hope she gets SOMEONE to knock some sense into her ;D
