FB Pages

I made my lil FB pg not too long ago bc I wanted a Blog/Fan pg where ppl could see what I do w my hair etc. I also wanted a place for my YouTube subscribers to go if they had questions or whatever, but I’m having problems w getting a camera & good lighting XP

It looks like ppl who ‘like’ pg’s just want to ‘stalk’ your pictures, they don’t want to here your ‘status’ like on a private FB pg. And I guess they only want 1 update/link per day bc if you post good links more than once then they’ll unlike the pg & some will like it again when it looks like you don’t post a lot of links anymore.

I try to find great healthy hair info & if I find a lot at once, I’m not gonna wait till the next day to post the other link bc I’ll forget where I found it. And I THOUGHT the ppl on my pg would want to see lil updates of my life since there my ‘fans’ but NOPE, they just want PICTURES of me XP Just like ppl who try to add someone just bc of their profile picture etc. And others just want to know how to get their hair long & healthy and don’t care about me, ha.

So I want to hurry up & get a camera so I can make some good YouTube videos & have ppl on my pg there bc they want to know about my journey, how it’s goin etc. Not to ask a quick question for their hair, then leave once they have all the info they need. Maybe IF I ever get a modeling job, I’ll turn the pg into a place for my job’s I’ve done. But for now, I’m just gonna leave the pg alone & just go on if ppl have a question XP

What I’ve Learned about my Natural Hair after 1 month(and what other ppl think of it)

I BC’d on Sept. 1st & I already knew my hair was gonna be 3c/4a before I was even 6 months post b/c I watched a LOT of YouTube videos & found 1 youtuber that was my hair twin w the EXACT hair I had when I was lil & relaxer-free.

The 1st wk: I did twist outs & found out they’re cute on me, but my tips/ends are POOFY & need a pomade or gloss to keep them in check. I also found out I’m too lazy to do twists all the time & I only have the strength to do the front, also my hair will only look good w it for 2 days & then I’ll have to wash it + style all over again.

2nd wk: I went to the World Natural Hair Show & got LOT’S of samples which helped me find the best products that work for me. I found out my hair is Super Soft & kinda like baby hair. And it works better w Child natural products than w regular natural products.

3rd wk: I learned my TWA is kinda like Taren916’s & the pattern kinda looks like hers too. My hair can just be spraied w water & add some hair butter each morning w/o getting build up & it looks great each time =) I found out I don’t need to comb my hair out, if I do then it’ll get messed up & frizzy =P

What ppl think: My mom has just got used to my hair when I bought some hair butter, before when I 1st BC’d & was learning what my hair likes she would keep saying she had to get used to it. All my mom’s friends are natural(she’s not & only likes long straight hair) LOVE my hair & want to cut theirs like mine, some also are gonna give me products they don’t use.

My friends (mostly the close one’s to me) LOVE it on me & think the fro matches my personality perfectly, the rest think it looks good on ME & don’t like short hair bc they think you “have to have long hair to be a girl”(they’re closed-minded). Random ppl mostly LOVE my hair & think I’m some kind of hipster model. Others think I look bubbly. And some think I’m “gay” or wonder why I have such a pretty face & “cut all my long hair off”.

My Family: I posted the picture on FB & the family members that I do have on there did NOT ‘like’ the picture or comment on it, but I KNOW they saw it bc they kept askin my mom what it looked like + they STAY on FB (LOL). My whole family is obsessed w Long Straight hair, but I’ve always have been the open-minded black sheep so I don’t really care what they think. I will be visiting them for Thanksgiving, so that’s when I’ll get their opinion’s & they have no Tact etc. so you know they’ll be honest.

My cousins are very preppy, one(younger) likes everything the other one(older) likes bc she looks up to her & they always call me a ‘nerd’ bc I’m not (sorry)’ghetto’ like them. They’re the kinda girls that have to look cute 24/7 ANYWHERE they go, even to BED!! And ‘cute’ to them is LOTS of SKIN & BOOBS, so yea.

The younger one used to look up to me when I lived in my hometown still, but started following our other cousin once I moved. And each time the younger one visits she kinda acts like she still wants to be ‘like me’ & even said she wants to go natural next yr, but the other cousin is tellin her a bunch of stupd crap like ‘it’s not gonna look right’ or ‘afro’s aren’t preppy enough for them’ etc.

I’d be glad to help both of them w their hair bc they both go to the salon for their hair & don’t know how to care for it them selves, they also are too lazy to do it & swim all the time anyway & wear high ponytails 24/7. But I can’t help them if they don’t want it, they both know I’m a Master Cosmetology student & have my contact info. So I’m just waitin on them, I already offered my help plenty of times.

But anyway like I said before, we’ll see what happens on Thanksgiving when I see them again & I’ll keep you guys updated ;D

All in All I LOVE my newly natural TWA & wouldn’t go back to creamy crack if even if it magicaly started making ppl’s hair grow(LOL) HHJ~

Black Scene Girls

Aparently you can’t be “scene” if you have your natural hair. I’ve seen plenty of White scene girls w curly hair, so why is it not OK if the Black girls choose to wear their natural curly/kinky hair?

A LOT of black scene girls have their own lil crazy idea of what they think ‘scene’ is: Long straight spiky hair(so they get weave & cut it the way they want). Bright colors in their hair(so they dye it or get clips). Dramatic or heavy makeup(looks like a racoon). Dress ‘happy’(so they put on a bunch of hello kitty stuff & rainbow acessories EVERYWHERE).

To ME I think ‘scene’ is: Being you & not following the crowd or trends. Don’t care what anybody else thinks about you bc only God can judge you. Wear your hair the way you like it(but at least make sure it’s neat/together). Dress to match your PERSONALITY, if you’re a happy person OK wear rainbow colors, but don’t make it look like one through-up on you. Be cool w ppl, don’t act ‘funny’ or disrespect. Just be YOU & fit your image to what YOU like.

I used to have relaxed auburn dyed hair, but now it’s in a natural curly fro & I LOVE it!! I used to just dress ‘comfy’: T-shirt & jeans, but now I dress to match my personality(bc I finally got some money for clothes) which for me is: a cute top or shirt that goes w my body shape. Skinny jeans or pants that go to my knees. Heels or wedges. And my acsessories are edgy(cuffs, chains, leather etc.) I don’t wear pink or prints bc I’m not preppy, but I am a happy bubbly person.

I guess b4 I was just depressed & didn’t care WHAT I looked like(my high school was like HELL, only 2 Black kids in each class & school full of rednecks). But now that I’m in college I’ve ‘found myself’ & know ‘who I am’ & just can REALLY be me now =D

So if I don’t fit YOUR image of ‘scene’ then FINE, I don’t wanna be ‘scene’ if it means lookin like a clown or addin a bunch of ppl I don’t know. I like the simple natural scene look that some girls have & they’re the one’s who got it right. Less is more. Wish their was a page for all the natural simple classy ‘scene’ ppl.
